A Grand Dining Experience for Couples Unveiled at Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore

The renowned Frantzén Group, led by celebrated Swedish chef Björn Frantzén, is set to mesmerize couples with the launch of Brasserie Astoria, a captivating blend of international flavors and traditional brasserie charm, housed within the magnificent Victoria Concert Hall. The eagerly anticipated opening of Brasserie Astoria is scheduled for 25 July 2023, and reservations are now being accepted. Boasting a seating capacity of 100, a private dining room for 10, and a cozy bar and lounge accommodating 22 patrons, this marks the Frantzén Group’s second venture into Singapore, following the success of their three-Michelin-star fine dining establishment, Zén, which opened its doors in November 2018.

Brasserie Astoria, the Group’s first venture outside of Sweden, beautifully emulates its flagship restaurant in Stockholm, situated within the historic Astoria Cinema dating back to the 1870s. Meticulously restored, this iconic Swedish landmark recaptures the essence of an era when Stockholmers sought solace from the hardships of war and depression in the 1920s, flocking to the cinema for entertainment and social gatherings. With its illustrious history, exquisite design, and unrivaled hospitality, Brasserie Astoria has become an enchanting dining destination for both locals and tourists alike.

Embracing this timeless allure, Brasserie Astoria in Singapore aims to revive the spirit of grand dining halls, complete with flambé trolleys, impeccable tableside service, and Chef Frantzén’s distinctive take on classic brasserie cuisine. The dining room exudes an electric ambiance, fueled by an infectious playlist meticulously curated by Chef Frantzén and DNA Director Stefan Gissberg.

Discerning diners can anticipate an extensive à la carte menu skillfully crafted by Singaporean Head Chef and Zén alumnus, Emil Cecil Ess. Highlights include the tantalizing Råraka, a Swedish delicacy that presents crisp Agria potatoes adorned with delicate vendace roe, and the delectable Toast Astoria, paying homage to the traditional Swedish Toast Skagen, generously piled with Baltic prawns and Norwegian king crab, elegantly dressed in wasabi aioli and perched atop crispy sourdough. In addition, Brasserie Astoria will showcase an extensive wine list and a unique cocktail menu that seamlessly blends Nordic influences with Asian flair.

Expressing his enthusiasm for this new venture, Chef Frantzén remarked, “Following the resounding success of Zén, we are thrilled to introduce the more relaxed and accessible Brasserie Astoria to Singapore’s vibrant culinary scene. We eagerly anticipate showcasing another facet of the Frantzén Group’s culinary artistry to this city that embraces gastronomic excellence.”

For couples seeking an unforgettable dining experience that seamlessly combines the allure of a bygone era with contemporary culinary innovation, Brasserie Astoria stands as an exquisite choice. Indulge in an evening of grandeur, romance, and delectable cuisine as Brasserie Astoria invites you to savor the magic of a world-class brasserie.
