According to a survey on pet ownership conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2022, 33% of respondents in Singapore stated that they owned at least one pet. This inflated pet ownership can largely be attributed to Covid-19, and is part of the nationwide spike in pet ownership during the pandemic.
