Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, were eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup on Thursday after falling to Al Ittihad 3-1 in the semi-final in Riyadh.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner and 37-year-old Portugal international was effectively restrained by the Al Ittihad defense for the majority of the game despite having a few scoring opportunities.
The 67th-minute goal by Al Nassr’s Anderson Talisca was unable to erase Al Ittihad’s two first-half goals from Romarinho and Abderrazak Hamdallah.
Adding the third three minutes into stoppage time was Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti.
The Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr will next visit Al Fateh on February 3.
