ONE Championship™ (ONE) is back in Singapore for the last time this year with two massive events in one day, kicking off with ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee!
The stacked card is headlined by a pair of World Champion vs. World Champion showdowns, as lightweight king, Christian Lee challenges ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian Abbasov to enter the rarefied air of champ-champ status.
Update: Kiamrian Abbasov failed to make weight for his match against Christian Lee to defend the ONE Welterweight World Title. Abbasov has been deprived of the belt as a result. Catchweight will be used for the fight. At ONE on Prime Video 4, only Lee will be eligible to win the World Title. The World Title will stay vacant if Abbasov prevails.
AtterMen spoke with Christian to get first dibs into what he’s been up to in preparing for the big fight.
Preparing for the fight
I’m very excited to be fighting Kirin Abbasov and it is a short time between fights. From the time I captured my lightweight title to this one. But when I got word of the opportunity, it was such a big moment for me and I didn’t want to let it pass by, so I treated this next fight as a continuation of my last fight camp. After finishing my last fight, I started training for this one.
Christian Lee
Christian shares that he had approximately only 2 months to prepare for this fight, which was the biggest fight of his career, but it was an intense training period for him compared to previous tournaments.
Responding to Kiamrian’s comment on Christian
According to ONE FC, Christian Lee will receive a violently rude introduction to the welterweight MMA class from Kiamrian Abbasov, the current ONE Lightweight World Champion. Abbasov also mentioned that Lee should “Stay In Your Lightweight Division.”
As the welterweight champion who is moving up from lightweight and will be losing a lot of size in the process, Christian told AtterMen that it’s only natural for Abbasov to feel that way.

When asked about what this win will mean for him, he said it would be his career’s biggest moment so far. Stating that this is the most important fight of his career, he mentions that he has never been more prepared for a match than he is now. Thinking back to his first-ever match, Christian would have never thought that he’d be where he is today, and are forever grateful for his supporters.
Family Is Everything
Lee mentions that he wouldn’t take on any fight if his wife and daughter weren’t able to attend.
