Is Coffee Good For You?

Are coffee drinkers healthier than those who abstain from caffeine? Recent studies suggest that coffee might not be as bad for you as you thought. For example, one study found that coffee drinkers had a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than abstainers. Other studies have also found that coffee drinkers have a lower risk of developing liver disease and Parkinson’s disease. However, these studies have been small and the results have not been consistent.

In addition, most of the studies that have found beneficial effects of coffee did not distinguish between caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. More research is needed to determine the effects of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee on your health. In the meantime, moderate amounts of caffeinated coffee are safe for most people.

You can limit the amount of caffeine in your diet by drinking decaf coffee and restricting your intake of caffeinated soft drinks. Consuming large amounts of caffeine can have adverse health effects, such as headaches, dizziness, and heart palpitations.

So, is coffee good for you? The answer is probably yes, but in moderation. For the health of your heart, go easy on the java!
