The Audi quattro Cup – the world’s biggest amateur golf tournament – returned for its 14th edition in Singapore yesterday, with Benny Ng and Chin Jun Wen emerging as local winners. The event took place at Sentosa Golf Club’s iconic The Serapong course, one of the top championship courses in Asia.
The esteemed duo, who competed for the second time in the tournament this year, managed a strong showing yesterday, beating 67 two-player teams to clinch the top spot in an exciting 18-hole tournament. Benny Ng and Chin Jun Wen will fly the Singapore flag high at the Audi quattro Cup World Finals in Rome, Italy, from 9 to 13 October, where they will compete against teams from 38 countries at the renowned Marco Simone Golf Club.
Benny Ng said: “We are honoured to be given the opportunity to represent Singapore at the Audi quattro Cup World Finals in Italy. It was a very pleasant surprise to have come out on top in just our second time competing. We had a great day on the course today, and thanks to Audi Singapore for organising such a great tournament.”
Chin Jun Wen added: “It’s a fun time at the Audi quattro Cup, getting to compete against so many like-minded players from the community. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique format and gameplay of the tournament, which allowed Benny and I to work together to get the best score possible.”
Joining Benny Ng and Chin Jun Wen in Italy are winners of the Audi quattro Cup Singapore 2021, Jason Ong Kok Hiong and Edward Houng, who also participated in this year’s tournament. In lieu of participating in last year’s World Finals due to travel restrictions, they will have the opportunity to represent Singapore alongside this year’s winners, and also compete for the prestigious title of world champion.
This year’s tournament also featured three hole-in-one prizes from Audi Singapore – the flagship Audi e-tron GT, Audi A3 Sedan and Audi A6 Sedan. Participants also participated in a range of novelty games, social challenges, as well as a lucky draw with 20 prizes from lifestyle, food and beverage and hospitality sponsors.
