Post-pandemic travel is beginning to resemble 2019 with Singapore residents island hopping over weekends and business travel back in full swing. 82% of customers that Instarem surveyed said they were planning to travel before the end of the year.
Since borders opened, amaze has been many travellers’ card of choice when it comes to making the smartest spends overseas, but there have been several users who weren’t able to reap the amaze benefits – in particular, users who don’t own a Mastercard. This is no longer a problem with Instarem’s new wallet top up functionality. Now any Mastercard or Visa debit/credit card can be used to top up the amaze wallet.
“The excitement over amaze has been unparalleled. With amaze’s competitive foreign currency rates, stackable rewards and InstaPoints incentives, the card has seen huge popularity with amaze’s customer base growing over 80% in the first 5 months of 2022 compared to whole of 2021.” said Ho Chee Wai, Head of Neo Financial Services at Instarem.
In addition, amaze card holders will soon be able to withdraw foreign currency from ATMs when they travel, should they need access to physical cash.
Since May, Instarem’s foreign currency transactions made with amaze have grown 60% with a trend of customers paying for flight tickets, hotels, and luxury items ranging from Chanel and Hermes bags to Cartier jewellery.
“Customers recognize amaze for its travel benefits, and we are happy to be able to bring our card to more people in Singapore, especially those with upcoming travel plans. Anyone with a Visa card can now enjoy amaze’s benefits,” he added.
In a post-pandemic world, amaze aims to make payments simple, and empowers Singapore travellers to spend in a seamless, cashless way, scoring great FX rates and InstaPoints while they spend.
Signing up for the amaze debit card is free and does not require any minimum deposit or annual fees.
Customers can register for the amaze card by downloading the Instarem app on the Google Play Store (for Android users) or on the App Store (for iOS users). They can use their virtual cards with immediate effect by topping up their wallet or pairing it with a Mastercard, while waiting to receive their physical cards. ‘amaze’ supports Mastercard PayPass contactless payments and can be used at all Mastercard acceptance points, including those for payment on public buses and trains.
