The portable device that solidified Nintendo’s stronghold in the market for handheld gaming was the Game & Watch. The highlight of these specialized handheld games is the monochromatic hero Mr Game & Watch, who Super Smash Bros. fans may be familiar with. As a result, Nintendo’s following handheld successes like the Nintendo Switch were based on the Game & Watch handhelds.
From 1980 forward, the first Game & Watch portable consoles were made available in Japan. So don’t worry if you weren’t able to get your hands on the actual system. The device’s Super Mario Bros. edition was recently released by Nintendo. It was launched to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the series.
This Super Mario Bros. edition contains the original NES game from 1985, the follow-up Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, and a recreation of the iconic Game & Watch game ball (Mario edition), in contrast to the original portable system’s limited selection of monochrome LCD games. Additionally, it serves as a digital clock, apropos of its name.
Super Mario Bros.’ 35th anniversary celebration is over, but enthusiasts may still get this unique handheld on Amazon Singapore.
