The Ketogenic diet has seen its rise in Singapore over the years, with its community expanding each time a “new year, healthy me” resolution is made. This low-carb, high-fat diet has been proven to promote weight loss and optimum health, but some critics remain doubtful about its long-term sustainability. The idea of giving up grains and sweets entirely may seem almost impossible, but this is where most people get it wrong – you can still enjoy them even on this diet.
Janti Joso Brasali, founder of Seriously Keto, is living proof that the Keto lifestyle can be long-term and successful. Janti has been ketogenic since 2017, when resources to maintain the diet were scarce. She took it upon herself to research and experiment with a plethora of keto recipes to see which ones appeal to the taste buds. Lots of blood, sweat and tears (but mostly love) were poured into perfecting her recipes, which she now shares with the world. Janti is a prominent figure in the Keto community, with her very own Youtube channel and cookbook.
We were greeted by the radiant Janti in her newly-renovated cafe that is decked out with marble tables and countertops, cushiony seats and warm lighting. She lovingly shared the history of her magnum opus and her thought process when coming up with their infamous keto bun, among many other delicious goods.
Seriously Keto is a sugar-free wonderland that is filled with delectable low carb, gluten-free, and zero-sugar bites – here are some must-trys:
Thai Milk Tea Jelly
Sweetened with erythritol, Seriously Keto’s Thai Milk Tea Jelly only has 3 grams of carbs per cup. It tastes just like a regular Thai milk tea, with an added cooling sensation from the erythritol that hits you ever so slightly. Complimenting the tea is a unique, chewy konjac jelly.
Chendol
A pandan cake in liquid form. With its pronounced pandan flavour, this drink is pure bliss – you would never guess that it’s keto compliant. Its inviting fragrant notes in the first few sips will get you hooked enough to order a second cup.
Keto Buns
Janti conducted many trial and errors before coming up with the perfect keto bun recipe, which has now become Seriously Keto’s signature bake. Made with almond flour, this bun is soft and melts in your mouth in just a few bites. It is extremely versatile and can be made into an endless variety of guilt-free dishes, as shown in Janti’s cookbook Keto Bun enhancements.
Cheese Crisps

Tastes just like Ritz crackers! This delicious keto snack is made up of almond flour and 3 types of cheese – parmesan, edam and cheddar. It is a favourite among a number of Seriously Keto’s staffers, who claim that they can’t stop munching on them once they’ve started.
Garlic Pretzels
A savoury delight loved by many, this mozzarella and Emmental cheese bread is baked with a hint of garlic and is low in carbs, gluten-free, and keto-friendly. We were blown away by how buttery it is and melts in your mouth just like the Keto Bun.
Lamb Casserole
Seasoned to perfection, this baked lamb casserole features the infamous Keto Buns, cheese and lamb. We especially enjoyed sinking our teeth into this one, as it reminded us of our favourite Middle Eastern cuisine. Make no mistake – though this dish might appear small, the Keto Buns get you full quick!
Lava Cake with Maple Ice-cream
While on keto, you still get to satisfy your sweet tooth – guilt-free. Seriously Keto is also cheekily called the No Sugar Sugar Club, as they offer a wide selection of low-carb desserts. One of them is this indulgent lava cake paired with maple ice-cream. Its fudginess and rich chocolatey flavour will make you shed a tear once you realize that it’s keto friendly.
Pana Cotta

This silky smooth, creamy dessert will have you in the clouds. The vanilla custard and layer of sweet and sour berry compote compliment each other wonderfully. Truly a divine dessert that is served during an assembly of gods.
Seriously Keto also sells ready-to-eat products and raw ingredients, so you can have them handy in your pantry and give this diet a whirl.
Seriously Keto will be re-opening its doors to the public today, 15 July 2022. Situated nearby key landmarks such as the Raffles Hotel and Esplanade, drop by for some SERIOUSLY good guilt-free meals, pastries and desserts.
